Bunchrew, Highland

Bunchrew is a small village close to the south shore of Beauly Firth in the Highland council area of Scotland. It is 5 km west of the city of Inverness, on the A862 road. The name is from Bun Chraoibh, Gaelic for 'foot of the tree'. It has a caravan and camping site and Bunchrew House - a historic mansion that is now a hotel - is on the shore of the firth nearby. Bunchrew had a station on the Inverness and Ross-shire Railway, which opened in 1862.
