Tibbermore, Perth and Kinross

Tibbermore is a small village situated about 4 miles west of Perth, Scotland. Its parish extends to Aberuthven; however, the church building is now only used occasionally for weddings and funerals. Previously known as Tippermuir, it was the site of a not inconsiderable battle between the Duke of Montrose and an army of Covenanters. The church building is in a poor state of repair, however, restoration is being considered. Tibbermore has several listed buildings.

Tibbermore, Perth and Kinross in John Bartholomew's "Gazetteer of the British Isles" (1887)

Tibbermore, par. and ry. sta. (Tibbermuir Crossing), in co. and 5 miles W. of Perth, 6140 ac., pop. 1883; P.O.; the par. contains a small part of the parl. and royal burgh of Perth; the battle of Tibbermore (or Tippermuir), in which the Marquis of Montrose defeated the Covenanters, was fought Sept. 1, 1644.
