Markinch, small town and par. with ry. sta. (Mark-inch Junction), Fife - par., 9821 ac., pop. 5863; town, 4¼ miles E. of Leslie and 11½ miles SW. of Cupar, pop. 1273; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; the inhabitants are employed in the neighbouring mills and bleachfields.
