Cartland, vil., in co. and 2 miles NW. of Lanark; 1 mile NW. of Lanark are C. Crags, a vast chasm forming the bed of Mouse Water; the rocks have an alt. of about 400 ft., and a bridge of 3 semicircular arches, 129 ft. high, spans the ravine.
