Drumelzier, Scottish Borders

Drumelzier, is a village on the B712 in the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders. The area of the village is extensive and includes the settlements of Wrae, Stanhope, Mossfennan and Kingledoors. To the north is Broughton and to the south the road passes Crook Inn to Tweedsmuir. The Drumelzier or Powsail Burn runs by here, and is a tributary of the River Tweed.

Drumelzier, par. and vil., in co. and 9½ miles SW. of Peebles, on Powsail Burn, ½ mile above its influx to the Tweed -- par., 17,948 ac., pop. 208; 1 mile SW. of church, on the Tweed, are the remains of D. Castle (16th century); D. Burn, flowing 2½ miles NW., unites with Scrape Burn to form the Powsail.
