Ovenden, Calderdale

Ovenden is a village in the county of West Yorkshire, England, located next to Boothtown and Illingworth and about 1 mile from Halifax town centre. Ovenden had a railway station, originally on the Halifax and Ovenden Junction Railway line. The station was closed in 1955. The village's rugby league team, Ovenden RLFC, competes in the National Conference League.

Ovenden, town and township with ry. sta., Halifax par., N. div. West-Riding Yorkshire - township, partly within the bor. of Halifax, 5350 ac., pop. 12,874; town, on NW. side of Halifax, pop. 7487; P.O.; has worsted mills, ironworks, breweries, and bleaching and dye-works; Ovenden House, seat, is in vicinity.
