Preston-under-Scar, North Yorkshire

Preston-under-Scar is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England, about 2 miles west of Leyburn. It has a population of 120. The Wensleydale Railway passes by but the station is in private hands. There are interesting remains of the old lead mining industry in the nearby Condenser Wood. A 1/2 mile (1 km) south of the village centre stands Bolton Hall, the seat of the Barons Bolton.
