Hatchmere, Cheshire West and Chester

Hatchmere is a small lake in Cheshire, adjacent to Delamere Forest. It is also the name of a hamlet near the village of Norley. Hatchmere is notable for several campaigns to maintain public access to the lake after it was bought by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust in 1998. Initially the Trust fenced off the only access point to the lake suitable for swimmers.
