Woolston, Warrington

Woolston is a civil parish in the borough of Warrington, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Historically part of Lancashire, it has a population of 7,868. It was the birthplace of Old Billy, the oldest horse that ever lived (1760–1822). Woolston lies in the east-central part of Warrington, on the north banks of the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal, and is bounded on the east by the M6 motorway.
