Keele, Staffordshire

Keele is a village and civil parish in northern Staffordshire, England, UK. It is approximately three miles (5 km) west of Newcastle-under-Lyme, and is close to the village of Silverdale. It is the location of Keele University and Keele Services, a motorway service area on the M6. The university partly surrounds the village. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 3,664, most of whom were students at Keele University. Some of these students are located at The Hawthorns.
