Talke Pits (sometimes with the variant, but incorrect spelling "Talke-Pitts") is a village in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire. It is located close to the Cheshire border. The history of Talke Pits is predominately coal mining. Talke Pits is close by the ancient village of Talke, originally "Talk O'the Hill".
