Pontygwaith (Welsh,"Bridge to work" or "Bridge of the Ironworks") is a village situated in the Merthyr Valley, (now referred to as the Taff Valley), South Wales. A Sussex Ironmaster named Anthony Morley set up a small ironworks here in 1583.
