Helland, Somerset

Helland is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated 2+⁄2 miles north of Bodmin. The meaning of the name Helland is unclear: it is possible that the origin is in Cornish hen & lan (i.e. old church). The original dedication of the church is unknown but St Helena is now recognised as the patron. The village is referred to in the Domesday Book as Henland.
