Holwell, Dorset

Holwell is a village in the county of Dorset in southern England. It is sited on Oxford clay in the Blackmore Vale, five miles south-east of the town of Sherborne. It lies within the West Dorset administrative district of the county. In the 2001 Census the village had a population of 380. Until 1844 Holwell was an exclave of Somerset.
