Buckland Monachorum is a village and civil parish in the West Devon district of Devon, England, situated on the River Tavy, about 10 miles north of Plymouth. In 2006 the neighbourhood had an estimated 1,511 residents and 654 dwellings. Domesday Book (1086) records Buckland Monachorum (Bocheland) as having land for 15 ploughs, a salt pan and a fishery rendering 10s.

Buckland Monachorum, Devon in John Bartholomew's "Gazetteer of the British Isles" (1887)

Buckland Monachorum, par. and vil., S. Devon, 4 miles SE. of Tavistock, 633 ac., pop. 1297; P.O.; contains Buckland Abbey, seat of a descendant of Sir Francis Drake. It has an original portrait and several relics of the old sea-king.
