Langton Herring, Dorset

Langton Herring is a village in the county of Dorset in south-west England. It lies within the West Dorset administrative district of the county, about five miles north-west of the coastal resort town of Weymouth. It is "prudently set on a ridge above the Fleet", the Fleet being a brackish lagoon behind Chesil Beach. In the 2001 Census the village had a population of 147.
