Ringwould, Kent

Ringwould is a village near Dover in Kent, England. The coastal confederation of Cinque Ports during its mediaeval period consisted of a confederation of 42 towns and villages in all. This included Ringwould, as a 'limb' of Dover. Ripple Windmill, which is being restored, lies within the parish.

Ringwould, par. and fishing vil., Kent, 3 miles SW. of Deal, 1604 ac. and 108 foreshore, pop. 853; P.O.; near vil. is Ringwould House, seat, and vestiges of a Roman camp; Ringwould is a noncorporate member of the Cinque Port of Dover.
